Apprenticeship Summary

Office administrator to support our Accounts Team and Transport/Operational team in a very busy office

Daily tasks will include the following:

  • Answer phones
  • Filing
  • Compiling emails
  • Post
  • Customers complaint
  • Data entry
  • Cash allocation
  • Debt chasing
  • Spreadsheet reconciliation
  • Entering Purchase Ledger
  • Creating Sales order,  and  creating sales invoices
  • Anything else as required

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £4.15 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £6.45 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £8.20 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Professional Hygiene was born in a small domestic garage in Kingswood, Bristol back in 1999. Only selling janitorial products for the 1st year. It was at that point we expanded into the washroom services, primarily servicing feminine hygiene units. 6 months later after many requests from existing and potential new customers, waste management was inevitable. In 2005 we moved to a slightly larger "tin hut" in Avonmouth to house the products in demand. In 2008 disaster struck the estate and unfortunately the company as we knew it burnt down. Having invested blood, sweat and tears, and not wanting to let our customer base down we rose from the ashes and moved into a new unit on the estate, which is where we remain today and continue to grow.

Waste management is forever growing now we have our own transfer station. We collect and dispose of clinical waste, special waste (amalgam, gypsum, fixer, developer), offensive waste, fluorescent tubes, pet waste and more.

Training

As the successful apprentice you will undertake a LEVEL 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration to include an NVQ, Technical Certificate, Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (where applicable), Employment Rights & Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS).

Our Apprenticeship programmes are designed around a mix of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning, some of which may be classroom based. 

You will be assigned a supervisor/mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and experience throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
