Media Course Grid
From A level media studies right through to the Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media, our media courses give students the knowledge and professional skills they need for a career in media.
SGS WISE is home to the Bristol Academy of Media Arts (BAMA), where our media students benefit from cutting-edge facilities and strong links to the expanding arts, media and music industries.
SGS WISE is often used as a location for popular TV programmes, including Casualty and Skins. Courses focus on developing a range of media skills, plus knowledge and understanding of the UK film and TV industry, while collaboration with our performing arts and art and design colleagues leads to the production of high quality feature and short films.
Courses involve working in production teams to develop and produce moving image media products, while gaining a sound knowledge of the various types of moving image.
Students learn how the television and film industries work in the UK, and have the chance to take part in work experience. You’ll learn to use Apple Macs and industry-standard software to produce work of a high standard – often equivalent to that seen from the mainstream media providers on your TV or computer.
Media facilities at SGS WISE include Mac suites with 60 computers, an editing suite, media and photography studio, a digital darkroom, and a studio theatre.
