Students successfully support Ambitions event
SGS College’s business students successfully participated in the planning and running of the highly successful Ambitions Event held at WISE, Wednesday March 8th.
As part of their Managing Event Unit, the level three learners took part in running the event from beginning to end, assisting with set up of the venue, filming the event, managing the presentations, greeting people on arrival and working on the information point.
The group also came up with the idea of having an opinion booth, which turned out to be very successful and included comments from learners such as: “This event has really helped me to understand which career path I want to take now. There were a variety of employers to talk to and really interactive presentations. The only recommendation I would make for next time is to have a map in the student booklet so we know where to go in the venue.”
One of the students involved in managing the event said: “The event was better than I imagined it was going to be as I didn't really know what to expect. I've really enjoyed running this event because it was fast paced and there was always something to do.”
Lecturer, Anna Price, comments: “I am so proud of the business students, they did a fantastic job at the event and were professional from start to finish. They represented not only the college well but also their department. They should be very proud of themselves. I am pleased to say as their lecturer that they all successfully passed this course unit.”
