Start this weekend’s arts trail at Bristol School of Art

Bristol School of Art, Queens Road, will be open to the public once more as part of the West Bristol Arts Trail.

To celebrate this annual event members of the public are invited to a special preview evening and official launch, which takes place today from 6pm to 9pm at the Bristol School of Art (RWA Building).

Now in its sixth year, West Bristol Arts Trail is held on the Saturday and Sunday of the second weekend in October every year. The dates for 2013 are 12th-13th October.

During the weekend visitors can browse the art school’s studios and view the artwork, which will be on show and for sale.

Jo Kear, Head of Department at Queens Road, comments: “This exciting event is a true delight for all – whether you are an avid art lover or simply looking to spend a pleasurable weekend browsing some outstanding art.

“Bristol has a strong art following so we’re hoping to have lots of people through the door, including the preview evening tonight.”

This completely free event sees over 100 local artists and art venues around Clifton, Hotwells, Cliftonwood and Redland open their homes and studios to the general public for people to browse their work.
