    Personal Well-being

    Our new Personal Well-being course is for people who are looking at developing their knowledge of personal and social development including mental and physical well-being, healthy lifestyles, understanding stress, values and beliefs, equality & diversity in society, as well as the concept of managing risk, thus enabling learners to make positive and informed choices in their lives.

    STT Retail

    Need the right knowledge and expertise to succeed in Retail or Customer Service? Our taster courses could be just the ticket towards your future career ambitions!

    Our exclusive fast-track taster courses are delivered within two weeks and are specifically for adults who want to gain experience, knowledge and expertise to improve their employability skills within a specific industry.


    Qualifications:
    • City & Guilds Introduction to Retail Entry Level 3 Award
    • City & Guilds Customer Service Level 1 Certificate

    SST / SBWA Security

    The course is delivered in two weeks and is specifically for those who want to gain recognised qualifications and knowledge of the security industry.

    Transferrable skills - Week 1:
    City & Guilds Award in Customer Service Level 1
    NCFE Certificate Level 2 in Equality & Diversity

    Sector Specific - Week 2:
    Security : Edexcel Award Level 2 in Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry.

    Completing the above qualification will enable you to apply for your SIA badge Guaranteed interview

    At the end of the second week you will have the opportunity to interview for a job with TSS (Total Security Services) and if you are successful you will be able to pay for your SIA licence in instalments from your first 3 months wages.

    SBWA McDonalds

    We have teamed up with McDonald’s and Jobcentre Plus to provide you with a great opportunity in gaining employment at McDonald’s. We will be running a McDonald’s themed Employability Programme which will include a guaranteed interview with McDonalds at the end of the course.

    During the 10 day course you will achieve the following:

    • Customer Service Level 1 Certificate
    • Equality & Diversity Level 2 Certificate
    • Food Safety in Catering Level 2 Award
    • Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2 Award

    The course has been designed to improve your employment chances by providing you with relevant sector specific training and helping you to build your confidence in preparation for your guaranteed interview!

    On average 50% of those who have completed our last SBWA gained employment with McDonalds.

    If successful at interview, you will be offered a one week work trial (work experience).

    SBWA Health and Social Care Allied Healthcare

    Make Everyday Count!

    A fantastic opportunity not to be missed and perfect for anyone over the age of 18.

    Make Everyday Count is available to study at Entry L3 and aims to help you with numeracy in just 5 days!

    Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in Mathematics at Entry 3

    • Add and subtract using three-digit numbers and round to the nearest 10 or 100
    • Solve practical problems involving multiplication and division by 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10
    • Understand and use simple fractions
    • Understand, estimate, measure and compare length, capacity, weight and temperature
    • Complete simple calculations involving money and measures
    • Recognise and name simple 2D and 3D shapes and their properties
    • Extract, use and compare information from simple charts, simple graphs and tables

    Get a refresher in the maths that you might encounter day to day. Learn the basics in a safe, non-judgemental environment. You will do fun activities and learn maths which is practical not theatrical.

    Literacy the Best is available to study at Entry L3 and aims to help you improve reading and writing skill in just 5 days!

    Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in English at Entry 3

    • Respond appropriately to others and make some extended contributions in familiar formal and informal discussions and exchanges
    • Read and understand the purpose and content of straightforward texts that explain, inform and recount information
    • Write texts with some adaptation to the intended audience

    Learn the basics to English in a safe welcoming environment, which is fun as well as practical and aims to motivate you to continue to develop your existing skills.

    Computer Confidence Plus

    Designed to give you the skills you need to become a ‘digital citizen’. With IT at the heart of many workplaces and Full Service Universal Credit now on board, this course will provide the basic grounding you need to ‘go digital’. We help you gain core knowledge to use IT in different ways such as using the Internet safely, accessing application systems, online resources and accessing emails. We will help you learn how to change authentication on a PC, become familiar with the features of a PC, learn how to use internet and make specific searches, attach documents to emails and practice instant messaging. Computer Confidence Plus is perfect for all ages!
