Meet the Prize Day 2013 Cross College Winners
This time last month, students celebrated their College success at Prize Day 2013.
On Thursday 27th June the Stroud Campus held the first event where Britain’s first (and only) Olympic Ski Jumper and winner of ITV’s Splash!, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, presented the awards.
The following day, Friday 28th June, the Bristol Campus had one of the West Country’s most famous folk bands, The Wurzels, handing out awards and performing a special gig.
To remember this great annual event, new articles will be published daily on the SGS website of the Vice Principal's, Principal's and Governor's award winners.
We will start with the Vice Principal's Award winner, awarding the Learner Who Has Contributed Most to the College in 12/13 (Stroud Campus), Alex Yates.
Alex’s tutor provides the information below:
Alex is a polite, courteous, hard working and dedicated learner who has constantly produced outstanding work throughout the duration of the Music Tech Extended Diploma course. Alex has achieved distinction grades for all of his course work and units as well as developing his own style in digital music production.
He has been a course representative for two years and has attended course rep meetings, helped out during open evenings and shown 100% commitment to his studies and the College itself. Alex has contributed a great deal to the course and the college through his work as a course rep, enabling positive changes for the department.
Alex has excellent attendance, punctuality and has shown dedication and commitment to furthering his own student experience and pursuing a career with in the music industry. Alex has excelled on this course and has developed into a top rate producer and DJ.
