If you dream of a career in conservation, or you want to work with animals, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College has a course for you.
Based at the Bristol Zoo Gardens in Clifton, our Animal Management and Conservation Team can help you gain an industry-recognised qualification in animal sciences or horticulture. Our courses range from entry level right up to Level 5, and include the Diploma in Animal Care/Horticulture, Level 3 Veterinary Nursing, and the internationally acclaimed Foundation Science Degree in Integrated Wildlife Conservation.
There’s really nowhere better to gain the knowledge and experience you need to work in this growing industry. We offer excellent facilities, a supportive team of experienced and enthusiastic lecturers, and unique hands-on experience, ranging from everyday animal care to behaviour and management.
Students will gain plenty of hands-on experience of working with animals in the brand new, well-stocked animal house at the Bristol Zoo Gardens, as well as working on local farms.
Many of our students gain valuable work experience on placement in local businesses such as community farms, groomers, kennels and pet care establishments.
