Course Detail

IOSH Working Safely

Part time course

IOSH Working Safely

Working Safely is for people at any level, in any sector, who need a grounding in the essentials of safety and health. It gives everyone at work an understanding of why they must ‘work safely’ – and does it in an enjoyable way.

What the course covers

  • An outline of occupational safety and health
  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Identifying common hazards
  • Improving safety performance

Course delivery

The course is usually delivered over one day using a mixture of lectures, interactive exercises and videos. It is assessed by a multi-choice question paper and a multi-choice hazard spotting exercise.

Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, students are awarded an IOSH Working Safely certificate and/or passport card.

Classroom courses are recognised by CSCS as equivalent to a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (does not apply to online courses). This means that delegates who successfully complete Working Safely can apply for a CSCS green Labourer card once they have also passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test.
