Our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling will benefit learners who want to train to become a counsellor working in a counselling agency. Successful completion of this course will enable you to provide a therapeutic counselling service within the context of an agency's service framework.
The Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling provides:
coherent vocational and professional counselling training
a competence based training which highlights the development of skilled practice via experiential learning
specific training for the role of counsellor in an agency
the opportunity to learn a wide range of counselling theories and approaches
a pathway onto Open University Foundation Degree in Counselling
What will I learn:
The Course is divided into the following 7 units:
Working ethically, safely and professionally as a counseller
Working within a counselling relationship
Working with client diversity in counselling work
Working with a user-centred approach to counselling
Working with self-awareness in the counselling profession
Working within a coherent framework of counselling theory and skills
Working self-reflectively as a counseller
How will the course be delivered:
This is a highly interactive course full of discussion, skills practice, taught sessions with activities and group space.

Weekly verbal and/or written feedback from tutors and peers.
Is previous experience necessary:
You must have obtained both our http://www.cpcab.co.uk/qualifications/csk-l2 Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and our http://www.cpcab.co.uk/qualifications/cst-l3 Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, or their equivalent.
Do I receive a qualification:
CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
What can I do next:
Successful completion of this course means that the candidates will be able to provide a therapeutic counselling service initially within the context of an agency's service framework but later (with experience and support from the supervisor, or by completing PC-L5 or its equivalent) they may progress to independent practice.
