Part time course
Introduction to silk screen and photographic stencils with an option for editional colour lino-cut which can be tailored to your choice of design. Some terms also focus on relief printing and multi-colour over printing using MDF board paper stencils and lino cutting tools. The spring term 2017, will focus on woodprinting using a life model for some of the print inspiration.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to 'register' prints enabling over printing of differing colour and surfaces as well as cutting techniques and paper preparation for printing.
How will I learn?
The tutor will show examples and sketchbooks relating to professional practice. From here the highly experienced tutor will work with students on a 1:1 basis to develop their work and skills. Your tutor will offer guidance through workshop activity and periodical assessment through informal discussion at points during the days.

What should I bring to my first class?
Sketchbook and notepad. A camera maybe to record process stages. If you don't have a sketchbook, please bring some sort of imagery you find you are attracted to. This could be an abstract pattern or people, a place or an object.
Are there any extra costs?
Not initially, but you may wish to purchase materials for working on a larger scale or quantity.
