Level 2 Photography
Full time course
This course is for those who show an interest in capturing moments in time. Photography is woven into the fabric of our daily lives: from selfies to shots of food, we take and share images of things that are important to us. The course introduces you to the skills that you need to frame, edit and produce pictures that tell stories.
What will I learn?
You will learn both analogue and digital processes, through working in our darkroom to digitally editing images using Photoshop. Additionally, you will learn how to develop concepts in a creative way. You will be working on projects that develop your ideas and allow you to realise your intentions.
What do i need to join?
Four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, English and maths are desirable, or a relevant Level 1 qualification. As this is a creative course, we would also like to see a portfolio of creative work at your interview.
What can I do next?
Learners who successfully complete the qualification, and all other elements of their study programme, may progress to one of the Level 3 Extended Diploma courses.
What are your career options?
Most photographers are freelance. You could also get a permanent job with an advertising or PR agency, a newspaper, a hospital or the police.
You will study photography within the School of Art, here at Stroud and be surrounded by other creative people. You and your ideas are important to us, so we hope you take this opportunity to come and study with us.
