Life Drawing - Helen Ambler
Part time course
About the Course:
Learn a range of skills and techniques through painting and drawing from the life model. The course focuses on developing your observational skills and ability to see form and shape as it really is.
What will I learn?
How to see differently ¬– to see the human figure as artists do – in terms of shape, form, balance and rhythm. Mastery and knowledge of art materials. A range of approaches to the task of accurate life drawing and painting including pencil, charcoal, oil paint, colour mixing, foreshortening, proportion and anatomy.
How will the course be delivered?
New techniques are demonstrated by the tutor as well as continuous 1-1 support and guidance while you work. Examples of famous historical and contemporary art are shown and discussed, work is made by all and we discuss the results.
How will I know how I am doing?
Through continuous guidance and supportive feedback from the tutor and group discussion, you will always know how you are progressing and what to focus on. You will produce at least one piece of work each evening.
Do I need any experience?
Some experience would help but it is not essential.
What do I need to bring to my first class?
Are there any extra costs?
What can I do next?
Continue to attend evening classes or apply to do the part-time Access to Art & Design course.
