ILM Award in Leadership and Management - Level 3
Part time course
What will I learn?
Level 2 Award / Certificate in Leadership and Team Skills: The Award or Certificate in Leadership and Team Skills is ideal if you are a practicing team leader, helping you become more effective and confident in your role. It also supports new or aspiring team leaders – helping you make the transition from working in a team to leading a team.
Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management: This qualification is ideal if you have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing your abilities. It's particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management.
The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) is Europe's leading awarding body for leadership and management qualifications. More people in the UK gain leadership and management qualifications with ILM than from any other awarding body – in fact, they award more qualifications in leadership and management than all the others in the UK combined.
ILM qualifications bring about practical benefits to you and your organisation because they focus on improvement – improvement of leaders and managers in their roles, improvement in the teams they lead and in the products and services they provide, and improvements in your organisation and the way it operates.
Level 4 Certificate in Leadership and Management: This qualification is designed for new and aspiring department heads, regional team leaders and other middle managers – really get to grips with the role, gain comprehensive business knowledge and develop the skills you need to lead at this level.
Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management: This qualification is designed for project managers, department heads, and other practising middle managers. Develop your skills and experience, improve your performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.
How will I learn?
Learning will take place mainly in a classroom environment which will include individual study, team work and various activities. The ILM Award is an assignment based qualification; students are not required to complete any examinations.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be within a supervisory or management role with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme. Applicants at levels 2 and 3 may need to sit an initial assessment in literacy to assess their suitability for the qualification. Applicants for levels 4 and 5 will need to attend an interview with the course tutor prior to selecting a level of study.
What else do I need to know?
Students will receive membership to the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) for the length of the course. Access to the ILM leaning website and college library is available to students during their studies.
