Level 2 Welding
Full time course
The new SGS Berkeley campus offers a state-of-the-art, fully equipped Fabrication and Welding workshop. Learners will study the basic principles of this technology and develop practical skills in all types of welding techniques and processes. Learners will work with metals and alloys, and cut and join composite materials such as plastics using specialist welding methods.
If you already have some experience of engineering or would like to specialise in welding, this study programme will develop your skills and knowledge to become an industry specialist. The study programme is delivered through a combination of classroom-based theory and practical-workshop sessions covering key industry skills.

Qualifications and progression
SGS offer Fabrication and Welding full-time courses at levels 1, 2 and 3 and apprenticeships at level 2. Once you have progressed through the levels you could continue on to a HND.

A career in fabrication and welding could offer employment opportunities in a wide range of industries including construction, engineering, transport, aerospace, offshore oil and gas industries.
What do I need to join?
You will need three GCSEs at grade 2 (grade E), including English and maths.
What can I don next?
On successful completion, learners can progress to Level 3 Welding or Engineering or an apprenticeship.
