About the course
The ceramics area is well equipped and spacious with a studio for hand building and throwing, a kiln room and separate glaze room. A wide range of materials is carried allowing a variety of different types of ceramics to be made from reduced stoneware to earthenware and on-glaze enamel
What will I learn?
Students new to ceramics will be guided through the basic principles of throwing, handbuilding, ceramic sculpture and glazing. A project will be offered but you may come with your own ideas. More experienced students will negotiate projects with the tutor. Discussion sessions around work in progress, exhibitions and ceramic work will help to clarify ideas

What do I need to bring to the first class?
Overalls/apron, pen and notebook. Most materials are provided – finished work costs £2 per kilo to take away. If you wish to use porcelain or other materials that we do not supply you will need to buy your own
