This course is specifically for learners who wish to pursue a career in the airport and airline industry in the air or on the ground. This course is partnered with Swissport International Ltd (previously Servisair – one of the leading global operators in aviation ground services), who will provide learners with a guaranteed job interview and one week's work experience at Bristol International Airport. In addition, you will learn how to deal with difficult passengers and gain a qualification that prepares you for work as airline cabin crew. This is a full-time course of approximately 22 hours per week from September to Easter. This will release you in time to start employment for the summer season.
What will I study?
On this course, you will study:
The Certificate in Aviation Operations on the Ground
Certificate in Airline Cabin Crew.
Maths and English
You will also complete qualifications in Maths and English alongside your main course.
You will also study Functional Skills and have the opportunity to gain First Aid qualifications.
Swissport International Ltd will provide learners with one week's work experience at Bristol International Airport.
You will have a guaranteed interview with Swissport at Bristol Airport. The course also offers opportunities for employment as air cabin crew. Within the last two years, the course has seen an increase in students securing employment with both national and international airlines.
What do I need to join?
You will need four GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, with English and maths being desirable.
How long is the course?
This is a flexible course of approximately 22 hours per week from September to Easter.
How will I learn?
You will take part in a number of trips to Bristol Airport, where you will be able to undergo training at the Airport and also get the chance to go on a safety and emergency procedures day at British Airways training facilities at Heathrow Airport.

You will receive continuous reviews, along with full and regular feedback from your tutor, to ensure you are on track and ready for your next step. Feedback will be verbal, written or electronic and is all designed to support you on your course and to help you achieve the results that you need.

Materials fees (non-refundable) and trips – these can be paid for in instalments.
What can I do next?
Upon successful completion of the Level 2 qualification, learners can either gain employment in the industry or, alternately, finish their studies at SGS by completing the full Level 3 Diploma.
