Access to Higher Education - Humanities Pathway
Full time course
This course is designed for adults returning to education and who want to gain access to university with the option of a wide range of subject areas rather than in a specific professional role. This course will give you plenty of experience in various subjects, something that is invaluable for students returning to education after a period of time away.
What will I study?
During this course, you will be studying, language, sociology and law at Level 3 which will involve independent study, giving presentations and formal assessments.
What do I need to join?
You will need two GCSEs at grade 5 in English and maths, and will need to sit an entrance test. Specialist pathways may require higher grades: these will be discussed as part of your interview for the course.

How will I learn?
Classroom study will be used to teach you in an informative and interactive way. The course will be assessed through a range of different assignments collated into a course portfolio. The great majority of the assessments will be coursework based, together with some exam and practical project work.
How will I know how I am doing?
Assessment is continuous, and consists of coursework, portfolio building and regular one-to-one time with a personal tutor.

What can I do next?
The majority of students who successfully pass the Access to Higher Education Diploma go on to university.
