Summary

This course provides you with an excellent stepping stone to progress to a level 3 qualification and beyond. Our experienced and friendly teaching team will help you to experience a range of IT skills, including games design, computer networks, graphics and web development or multimedia.

Maths and English

As part of the programme and vital to future employment and progression, learners will undertake Maths and English qualifications as part of their study programme.

Employability

Tutorials include work skills, such as CV writing and interview skills. The course itself equips you with a range of IT skills, which are useful in all kinds of employment.

What do I need to join?

You will need three GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, with English and maths being desirable.

How will I learn?

You will learn through lessons, practical classes and using specialist software in the classroom. You can access course materials and submit assignment work online via our virtual learning environment and through your own personal website, which you will develop as part of the course.

How will I know how I am doing?

You will receive coursework grades and frequent feedback from your tutors.

Are there any extra costs?

There may be costs for materials fees; these will cover the cost of trips, visits and specialist equipment. Typical examples of trips and visits include: Team building trip to Hollywood Bowl, trip to Science Museum in London, team building trip to Brean.

What can I do next?

You can move on to a level 3 course or an IT Apprenticeship, which can lead to higher education or work.

Tuition Fees

Between the ages of 16-18 you do not need to pay tuition or exam fees for your course. If you are between the ages of 19 and 23 and have not achieved a full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification before, you will not need to pay tuition, exam or material fees using the Level 2 or 3 Entitlement. If you are aged 19 or over, studying a Level 3-6 and a Level 3 Entitlement does not apply, you will need to pay the full cost of the course. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the fees. Please contact the College directly for the most up to date fees – these may be subject to change.
