Foundation Diploma in Construction
Full time course
This broad programme is a perfect introduction to the construction industry. If learners are unsure what trade they would like to specialise in then this course provides training in all the main construction trades, including plastering, painting and decorating, carpentry, brickwork and plumbing. This programme covers construction techniques and skills, the various materials used and allows you to practice in an industry-simulated environment.

What do I need to join?
You will need two GCSEs at grade 2 (E) or above, in English and maths. A short interview together with assessments in maths, English and trade skills will be necessary to ensure the level of the course is appropriate for you.
How will I learn?
The majority of time will be spent learning in the workshop. Classroom study will be interactive and informative.
How will I know how I am doing?
Through regular feedback and one-to-one reviews with your tutor. You will be assessed continually through practical tasks and workshop-based activities.
Are there any extra costs?
Materials fees will be required at enrolment. Financial support is available in certain circumstances. Contact Learner Services for further information. You will be asked to provide your own safety boots to wear in the workshop.
What can I do next?
After successful completion, you can progress to a Level 1 qualification with in the construction department.

Apprentice bricklayer or carpenter.
