Part time course
This course is for anyone who is interested in learning for travel or just for pleasure.
Term 1: Personal Information, greetings, courtesies and introductions
Terms 2 and 3: Buying food, drink and clothes, travel and directions, and booking accommodation
By the end of the 3 terms you should be able to travel to your chosen country and communicate confidently at a basic level.
Do I receive a qualification?
There is no qualification.
How will I learn?
The classes are vibrant and interactive. Led by a tutor but with lots of work in pairs or threes, discussion groups, class activities, practicing listening skills in a supportive group atmosphere. There is plenty of conversation covering topics like ordering food and drink, meeting people, talking about yourself and your family and travelling.
How will I know how I am doing?
There is no formal assessment but your tutor will give lots of supportive feedback on your progress.
How will the course be delivered?
The course is based in a classroom and delivered by a tutor using text books, audio and visual aids to support.
What should I bring to my first class?
Bring a pad, a pen and a folder for your hand-outs.
Is previous experience necessary?
No previous experience is necessary.
Are there any extra costs?
The only potential additional cost may be the text book. This will be confirmed by the tutor on the first lesson of the course.
